Kimberly & Rodney Wedding Video Teaser- Castle LadyHawke

Kimberly, Rodney and myself were sitting at one of my favorite haunts in Asheville, discussing their wedding day.

They were interested in hiring me to do their photography. When we first started corresponding, I had no idea that they were doing something so unique- a fully Scottish themed day! (Rodney is way Scottish!) So, as they ticked off the details, one-by-one, you can imagine my excitement to have the privilege to capture all those amazing images. Still images.

We discussed video, but at the time, it wasn’t on the agenda, so I had to be satisfied with just capturing the photos. Then, about three weeks till the wedding, Kimberly contacted me regarding video. I was already tasked to do the photography, she asked, “was there anyone I could recommend for video?” Well, after much deliberating…. I concluded that, if I could capture the photography AND direct the video simultaneously, I ABSOLUTELY WANTED IT!!!!

A few emails later and my crack team was lined-up and ready to go.

IT WAS A VERY BUSY AND AMAZING DAY!!!

Like a 21-year Single-Malt Scotch, I’ve distilled their day down and poured you a shot. It’s just a sip, mind you, something to savor. For it was a hardy and heart-warming day!

Michelle & Shawn Wedding Video Teaser- Claxton Farm

Michelle and Shawn’s wedding day, what a great time everyone had! Including a re-visit to the French Broad River. Seeing as how I’d missed the guys swimming adventure earlier in the day, they did a do-over in their suits for me to film… that kind’ve thing doesn’t happen often and it was great!

Claxton Farm was spectacular and the weather couldn’t have been better.

GSS- Too Late, The Transmission- rehearsal Jam

A few friends of mine have been working out a number of songs for an epic little concept album. I hung out recently during one of their jam sessions.

(Note: I was under the impression this was a song from the album… turns out they were just improvising something based on a snippet from a previous session…. not bad for off-the-cuff!)

I have to say they’ve got some really awesome stuff put together and am really looking forward to the final cut.

Enjoy.

GSS- Asheville Art Mob, “Hot Glass, Cold Beer”

There’s nothing quite like a refreshing bottle of brew on a warm summer day. Especially when accompanied by molton glass, torches spitting flame and some inspired artists creating original works of art.

Special thanks to Logan MacSporran, Alex Greenwood and Shane Smith for hosting a great afternoon of art at Phil Mechanic Studio. Also thanks to Hillary Frye of the Asheville Art Museum for making it all possible.

This was shot on the fly… no rehersal or walk-through. Just off-the-cuff shooting. Quite the challenge, but really happy with what came of it.
Shot with Canon 7d, sound- H4n, Mononpod, Merlin & Handheld.
